A BORD Pleanala inquiry in Wicklow was halted yesterday after it was discovered that experts' reports were missing from council files.

The inquiry into Wicklow County Council's decision to grant planning permission for 63 houses at Killincarrig, Delgany, was told the reports of the area engineer, the senior sanitary services engineer and the roads department were among papers missing from the file.

The appeal was halted to allow counsel for Killincarrig community association, Mr Michael O'Donnell, to assess' summaries of some of the mislaid reports. Mr O'Donnell said his concern was that the Wicklow county manager might not have seen the reports before a decision was made on the application.
