The last surviving member of the immediate family of the composer, writer and entertainer, Percy French, has died in England in her mid 90s.
Miss Joan French, who died in the village of Monks Fleigh, in Suffolk, was the youngest daughter of the Co Roscommon born composer of some of the most popular songs of the early part of this century.
Miss French, who was born in London and studied at the Royal Academy of Music there, spent her life as an elocution teacher at various locations in Britain.
