The Sun's front page story carried the headline Dr Dishy's Dinner Dates With Di". She did not deny that she knew Dr Khan.

The ashes of Timothy Leary and Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry went into space. yesterday on a rocket launched from a jetliner 36,000 feet over the Canary Islands.

Brigitte Bardot yesterday criticised Moscow city authorities for what she said was a "planned massacre" of stray animals during the city's 850th anniversary.

"The millions which will be spent to buy poison (to kill) the animals and thus `clean' the streets would be better spent helping those poor people who each day (in Moscow) come to the aid of animals in distress," Bardot wrote.

Musician Kirk Brandon told the High Court in London yesterday that Boy George tried to "out" him as a homosexual in revenge for his imagined dumping of the former Culture Club star.

Brandon, who found fame with Spear of Destiny and Theatre of Hate, said he was not a homosexual and the alleged affair, detailed in George's 1995 autobiography, Take It Like A Man, was "a total lie". He is suing for malicious falsehood over the book and a George CD, Cheapness and Beauty, which contains a song about him, Unfinished Business.
