The Government has partially rowed back on its decision to withdraw funding to upgrade the A5 road in Northern Ireland.

The Government has partially rowed back on its decision to withdraw funding to upgrade the A5 road in Northern Ireland.

Taoiseach Enda Kenny yesterday agreed to fund the project for a total of €50 million, comprising €25 million in 2015 and €25 million 2016.

On Thursday the Government announced a withdrawal of all funding, €470 million, promised for the motorway from the Border at Aughnacloy, Co Tyrone to Derry city.
