FILM and theatre director Peter Sheridan has pulled off a bit of a casting coup

FILM and theatre director Peter Sheridan has pulled off a bit of a casting coup. Singer Carole King is there anyone on the planet who hasn't asked Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow arrives in Dublin on Tuesday to begin rehearsal for Brighton Beach Memoirs, the Neil Simon play that Peter is directing for Red Kettle Theatre Company.

"I met Carole two years ago at a party and we got on so well that it ending up being one of those we've got to do a project together sometime sort of situations. Then this summer Pat Moylan and myself were working on casting for Brighton Beach when I suddenly thought of Carle."

He phoned her in New York and asked what her plans were for the summer, only to be told that she intended to be in Paris to learn French. "No, you're not," say Peter, "You're coming to Ireland to learn Gaelic. Get the play, read it, there's a part that's perfect for you." Twelve hours later Paris was forgotten and Carole was making plans to spend July in Ireland.

The play opens in Waterford on July 8th and then travels to Cork, Galway and Longford before finishing in Dublin at the end of the month.
