Kerry senior football manager Páidí Ó Sé has indicated this evening that he intends to fight for his job, after being given what he termed an 'ultimatum' by the county board.

In a short statement issued this evening, Ó Sé indicated that he was deeply hurt by the county board's actions.

"I received a phone call from the Chairman of Coiste Chontae Chiarraí yesterday evening giving me in effect, the choice of resigning my position as manager of the Kerry Senior football team or of being fired," he said.

He said that after many years of unlimited service both as a player and as manager he was extremely upset and hurt by both what he was told, and by the summary nature in which it was conveyed.

Reports from the county this evening indicate that the Ventry native intends to fight to hold his position.
