A work-to-rule by 70 nurses in the Mid Western Health Board region is entering its fifth day amid concern patient services may face disruption if the action escalates next week.
Nurses warning that they will not work overtime or remove clinical waste if the dispute continues into next week. Limerick Regional, Ennis and Nenagh Hospitals are affected.
The dispute centres on a pay claim for on-call hours. Nurses are currently paid €17.81 - a figure they claim is outdated, and they are now looking for €76 per hour.
They are also seeking an increase in the fee per operation. This stands at €34 per operation, a fee nurses want paid for every hour of the procedure.
Although both sides are willing to discuss the issues with a third party there is no agreement on what issues should be referred to an arbitrator.
