A Co Kilkenny nurse who claimed her bladder was damaged during an operation to remove her womb seven years ago has settled her action for damages against a doctor and a health board.

Mrs Susan Kelly (53), of Brandondale, Graiguenamanagh, had brought her action against Dr Motillal Ramnarain and the South Eastern Health Board.

The doctor and board had denied Mrs Kelly's claims and pleaded she was guilty of contributory negligence.

The court had heard that Mrs Kelly had the operation in St Luke's hospital, Kilkenny on July 10th, 1992. Dr Ramnarain carried out the procedure.
