The weather during November provided strongly contrasting conditions, according to the weather summary provided by Met Eireann. It was the sunniest November for many years but cool, with average air temperatures about half a degree below normal for most recording stations.

Rainfall totals varied widely, with the Clones station recording only 86 per cent of normal rainfall compared with Casement Aerodrome which recorded 163 per cent of normal.

There were many periods of relatively warm weather, but these were punctuated by quite stormy conditions with snow and sleet and gales. Malin Head recorded a gust of wind on November 6th which reached 106 miles per hour, the strongest of the month.
