Abuja - Nigeria's outgoing military ruler, Gen Abdulsalami Abubakar, yesterday signed into law a constitution which will come into force when the recently-elected government takes power.
Gen Abubakar recalled at the signing ceremony in the capital, Abuja, that a committee he set up to review the country's constitutional needs found Nigerians disapproved of the 1995 version. He will hand over power to the president-elect, the retired Gen Olusegun Obasanjo, on May 29th, ending 15 years of military rule in Nigeria.
