The Northern Ireland Prison Service has launched a recruitment campaign for 200 new custody officers. People from the Republic can apply for the posts, which offer a salary of £18,000-£23,000 (€21,622-€27,628).
The recruitment campaign, the first for more than 20 years, is part of a major reform of the prison service where a redundancy scheme seeks to achieve the early retirement of 540 prison officers out of a total 1,700 staff.
