Moscow - Russia's lower house of parliament approved new words for the national anthem yesterday, adding lyrics to a tune resurrected from Soviet days.
The new words were added to the tune, first used under the Soviet dictator Josef Stalin, which was written by Alexander Alexandrov. The words are by Sergei Mikhalkov.
