The new ambassadors of Belgium, Finland and Japan presented their credentials to President Mary McAlesse at Áras an Uachtaráin today.

The new Belgian ambassador is Mr Leopold Carrewyn, while Finland will be represented in Ireland by Mr Seppo Kauppila. Japan's ambassador to Ireland is Mr Keiichi Hayashi.

The ceremony in the Phoenix Park was overseen by a guard of honour from the Fifth Infantry Battalion, McKee Barracks; the Army No 1 band provided the music.
