Brussels - NATO's high-tech air war in Kosovo resulted in the deaths of around 500 civilians in 90 incidents, far more than NATO governments claim, a report by Human Right Watch has alleged.
In a summary of its findings, the US human rights group accused NATO to do more to protect civilians as it rained precision bombs and missiles on Yugoslavia.
The 79-page report accused NATO of violating "international humanitarian law," and called on NATO's 19 member states to establish "an independent and impartial commission" to probe civilian deaths.
