Talks are taking place between Vita Cortex owner Jack Ronan and the National Asset Management Agency (Nama), which may see workers engaged in a sit-in at a foam packaging plant being paid the non-statutory part of the redundancy money owed to them.
Thirty-two workers have been sitting in at the Cork plant.
According to sources, Nama has indicated it would be in a position to release non-statutory redundancy money if Mr Ronan was willing to give it control over an asset of the same value.
