World number two Rafael Nadal reached the Sony Ericsson Open final with a 7-6 6-2 win over Czech Tomas Berdych in windy conditions today.
The Spaniard, who reeled off the last 12 points of the match, next meets Russian Nikolay Davydenko or American Andy Roddick who knocked out top seed Roger Federer in the quarter-finals.
Nadal took 70 minutes to snatch a close-fought opening set, winning the tiebreak 8-6 after 10th seed Berdych double-faulted.
The number two seed then breezed through the second set to claim a 4-3 lead in career meetings with Berdych.
