The Cork School of Music has been awarded a grant of £10 million to finance an extension to the existing building at Union Quay.
Making the announcement yesterday, the Minister for Education, Mr Martin, said that the school, founded in 1878 as the first municipal school of music in Ireland or Britain, would enjoy a new future.
