Murder accused further remanded

A Limerick man was further remanded in custody yesterday charged with the murder of a Co Tipperary man.

A Limerick man was further remanded in custody yesterday charged with the murder of a Co Tipperary man.

Before Limerick District Court was Mr William Roche (20), single, with an address at Millstream, Killaloe, Co Clare. He was charged with the murder of Mr John Carroll (22), single, Cappamore, Co Limerick, at Gurraun, Ballinahinch, Newport, Co Tipperary, on December 4th, contrary to common law.

His solicitor said his client intended to apply to the High Court next week seeking bail. He was remanded in custody until December 22nd.

At the same court Mr Michael Sage (22), single, c/o Glenacre, Killaloe, Co Clare, was also further remanded, charged that on December 4th at Clarisford, Moys, Killaloe, he falsely imprisoned Mr Carroll, contrary to Section 15 of the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act 1997.

He was remanded in custody until December 22nd with consent to bail with conditions that he reside at his parents' home and attend at Killaloe Garda station daily and that he observe a curfew.
