The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr Andrews, officially opened the new Irish consulate in Cardiff yesterday, the day after the Welsh National Assembly was opened formally by Queen Elizabeth, writes Frank Millar, London Editor.
The consulate is in Brunel House in the centre of the city.
The Minister was accompanied by the Irish Ambassador to Britain, Mr Edward Barrington, and the Irish Consul-General in Cardiff, Mr Conor O'Riordan.
Mr Andrews visited the Assembly, where he met the presiding officer, Lord ElisThomas, and also had talks with the Secretary of State for Wales and First Secretary of the National Assembly, Mr Alun Michael.
