Bogota - President Andres Pastrana has refused to accept the resignations of the country's top military leaders a day after the Minister for Defence, Mr Rodrigo Lloreda, resigned his post.

Mr Lloreda resigned on Wednesday in protest at the latest development in peace talks with left-wing guerrillas, saying the military had suffered "humiliation" during the talks to end Latin America's longest-running civil war.
