Harare - A Zimbabwe newspaper said yesterday it would seek a second court order to free an editor arrested by the military over a report of an attempted coup in December.

Military police arrested Mr Mark Chavunduka, editor of the independent Standard, on Tuesday, after a report that 23 soldiers had been arrested for the alleged coup attempt.

Zimbabwe's High Court issued an order on Thursday for Mr Chavunduka's immediate release, but the Standard's managing director, Mr Clive Wilson, said it had been ignored by the army.
