Meteor music awards take place in Dublin

A host of international celebrities are in The Point Depot in Dublin tonight to attend annual Meteor music awards.

A host of international celebrities are in The Point Depot in Dublin tonight to attend annual Meteor music awards.

Eighteen Meteor Ireland Music Awards will be presented including Best Irish DJ, Best Irish Pop Act, Best Irish Band, Best Irish Album, Best International Male, Best International Female, Best International Group and Best Live Performance.    
 
The Dubliners will be honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award while Dave Fanning will receive the Industry Award and Sister Stanislaus Kennedy will be presented with the Humanitarian award.

Guests include hollywood actor Dominic West, who is currently co-starring with Julie Roberts in Mona Lisa Smiles; New Zealand's hottest export, Bic Runga and MTV's Alex Zane.

Irish actors George Mahon, Patrick Bergin, No Frontiers Katherine Thomas and 2FM's
Michael Cahill will also present awards alongside 'Queen of the Jungle, Kerry McFadden, Miss World Rosanna Davidson, Keith Duffy, Niall Quinn, Deirdre O'Kane, Denis Hickey, Joe Elliot and Hector Ó hEochagáin.
