TWO Dublin men appeared before the Special Criminal Court yesterday charged with having a pistol with intent to commit robbery in Inchicore, Dublin, on Wednesday.

They were also charged with robbing a man of £889.40 on the same date.

Before the court were Mr Denis Thompson (19), from Clonmore Drive, Tallaght and Mr Thomas Price (28), from Bolbrook Drive, Tallaght.

Det Inspector Declan Coburn said he had arrested Mr Price at Kilmainham Garda station at 11.24 am. yesterday for the crime of robbery at Newspread, Goldenbridge Industrial Estate, Inchicore, on June 4th.

He had later informed Mr Price he would be taken before the Special Criminal Court to be charged. He identified Mr Price as the fairhaired man in the dock wearing a white Tshirt.

The witness also gave evidence of arresting Mr Thompson yesterday morning for the same crime. He identified Mr Thompson as the man in the dock with darkish hair and wearing a red Tshirt.

Both men were charged with having a .22 calibre pistol, "Unique" model, at Goldenbridge Industrial Estate on Wednesday with intent to commit robbery.

They were further charged with robbing Mr Paul Coleman of £889.40 at Newspread Ltd, on the same date contrary to the Larceny Act.

Mr Justice Johnson remanded both men in custody to June 18th and told Mr Brian Walker BL, for Mr Price, that he could make an application for bail on Wednesday next, June 11th.
