The Medieval Church on the Irish Landscape is the theme of this year's Roscrea Autumn Conference, beginning today. The conference continues until lunchtime on Sunday and takes place at the Cistercian Abbey of Mount St Joseph.
Included in the programme are lectures on death and burial in medieval times, the impact of new orders in Ireland, and discussions on the recent excavations at Clonmacnois. Among the lecturers are the Prior of Roscrea, Father Nivard Kinsella, Professor Terry Dolan and an archaeologist, Mr John Bradley.
