Paris - Air France's Concorde mechanics, anxious to demonstrate their continued faith in the airliner, asked management yesterday to organise a special supersonic flight for company personnel.

The French government grounded all Air France Concordes after one of the aircraft crashed in flames immediately after take-off on July 25th, killing 113 people. But the aviation mechanics' trade union (SNMSAC) said it saw no reason to keep the aircraft out of the skies and sent Air France Managing Director, Mr Jean-Cyril Spinetta, a telegram asking him to authorise a flight to show company confidence.
