The manager of the Southern Regional Fisheries Board has agreed to tender his resignation, following settlement of a High Court case involving the Department of the Marine. Mr James Rogers was dismissed from his post last Nov ember. He has been manager of the Clonmel-based board since 1981 and was suspended in May 1997. Following his dismissal by Mr Seamus Keating, the commissioner appointed to assume key board functions, Mr Rogers had sought a judicial review. The board's internal inquiry into the actions of two of its inspectors continues.
