Man sought after attack in Malahide

GARDAI in Malahide, Dublin, are looking for a man who assaulted a young woman living alone on Friday night last.

The man broke into the woman's home in Malahide village and demanded money. Hem kicked the woman and left without getting anything. Gardai said the woman contacted Malahide Garda Station nearby and wash taken to Beaumont Hospital, but her injuries were not life threatening.

The man is described as being between 30 and 40 years old, 6 ft 2 in, of slim build, with fair hair worn to his collar, and a neatly trimmed beard darker than his hair. He was wearing a green/khaki wax jacket and had brown suede gloves.

Gardai also said they understood he might have spent some time in Malahide during the preceding days, possibly staying in rented accommodation or a B&B or hotel in the area.

Those with any information are asked to contact the Garda at Malahide (phone 845 0216) or the Garda confidential line (1850 666 111).
