A TEENAGER shot dead in a Dublin pub earlier this year had just celebrated his 19th birthday.
Darren Cogan from Bluebell Road, Dublin, was killed in the Blackhorse Inn, Inchicore, on June 25th, an inquest in Dublin heard yesterday.
He was drinking with a friend in the pub when a gunman entered and fired a number of shots.
When the gunman finished firing he walked outside and across Tyrconnell Road. He then turned and fired a number of shots at the pub.
Cogan died later that day at St James’s Hospital. His friend was injured.
Darren’s mother, Rose Cogan, told the inquest her son had just celebrated his 19th birthday before he was shot.
She said she had one other son and three daughters.
Insp Declan Good told the inquest: “There is a very intensive investigation ongoing.” Coroner Dr Brian Farrell adjourned the case until February 28th next year.
