A man was remanded in custody today accused of the multiple stabbing of a woman at a north Belfast health centre.
Darren Todd (23) is charged with the attempted murder of Mary McReynolds at the Grove Wellbeing Centre on the York Road yesterday.
Ms McReynolds (40) was stabbed up to 30 times during the attack. She is believed to be in a stable condition in hospital.
Mr Todd, of Pound Street, Newtownards, is further charged with possession of an offensive weapon, namely a knife, and attempted grievous bodily harm towards a bystander.
During a brief appearance before Belfast Magistrates’ Court today, Mr Todd nodded to confirm he understood the charges against him.
A detective sergeant said he could connect the accused to the alleged offences.
A defence solicitor declined to question the officer and said bail was not being sought at this stage.
Mr Todd was remanded in custody to appear again by video link next month.
