Man released in Dublin murder case

The second man held in connection with a double murder in west Dublin was released without charge last night.

The second man held in connection with a double murder in west Dublin was released without charge last night.

The man (27) was arrested yesterday by officers investigating the shooting last month of Eddie Ward and Brian Downes in the Walkinstown area of the city. He was released from Crumlin Garda station shortly after 9pm.

Another man (28) arrested was released earlier yesterday after questioning.

Mr Ward and Mr Downes were attacked on October 5th as they walked along the Greenhills Road.

Up to 10 shots were fired, and the attackers fled on a motorcycle, which was dumped in the Grand Canal near Bluebell.
