A man was yesterday recovering at Cork University Hospital after being rescued from the flood waters of the Bride river in mid-Cork late on Thursday. The man, in his 40s, slipped into the river near Ovens and was carried downstream before he was able to drag himself to the bank. A friend who had been with him raised the alarm.
