Man murdered in Tipperary

A murder investigation was launched by gardaí last night after a man was stabbed in Tipperary town centre.

A murder investigation was launched by gardaí last night after a man was stabbed in Tipperary town centre.

He was attacked while he sat in his van at around 6pm. He was parked outside a shop at the junction of Kickham Place and Abbey Street.

He drove away and got a short distance before his van stopped at the junction of Bridge Street and Main Street.

He was later pronounced dead at the scene. It is understood that the man lived locally. The man’s body was taken to South Tipperary General Hospital in Clonmel where a post mortem will be carried out.
