One man has died and two other people are being treated for injuries following three separate fires in Dublin in the last 12 hours.
The body of a young man was found shortly after firemen entered a derelict house on Dorset Lane at 9 p.m. after bringing a fire on the property under control.
A Garda spokeswoman said the cause of the man's death would not be known until a post mortem was complete and added that the scene has been persevered for examination today.
Shortly after 4 a.m., five units of the city's fire brigade were called to another fire at a second-floor apartment on Gardiner Street.
One man, apparently trapped by the fire climbed on to a ledge outside the flat. Gardaí said he either jumped or was thrown off the ledge following a small explosion within the flat.
The man was taken to the Mater Hospital, and a spokeswoman said he was not in a critical condition. A second person was taken to the hospital and is being treated for smoke inhalation.
A man is being treated for injuries sustained after escaping from a third house fire in Corduff, west Dublin, at 9.30 a.m. The man is understood to have sustained a number of burns and suffered from smoke inhalation.
