A 49-year-old man was killed in an accident in a Co Clare timber yard today.
The Health and Safety Authority confirmed it was investigating the death of the man at the plant in Feakle, east Clare.
It is understood an excavator fell on top of the man, a married father of four, shortly after 10am.
His body was removed from the scene at 1.20pm and taken to Limerick Regional Hospital where a postmortem will be held.
Gardaí are also investigating the death.
