A Drogheda man who sexually assaulted a wheelchair-bound man has been released from prison by Mr Justice O'Donovan at the Central Criminal Court.

Martin Khan (37), a married father of three, was jailed for two concurrent 3 1/2-year terms in March 1999, with a review this month. Khan had pleaded guilty to two charges of sexually assaulting his victim, a male with cerebral palsy, on July 26th and 27th, 1997.

Mr Justice O'Donovan told Khan he was very fortunate in his wife, who spoke up for him when he was sentenced and again yesterday.

The 1999 hearing was told the offences happened at the Augustinian College, Dungarvan, Co Waterford when Khan was a helper during the annual holiday there for Drogheda ARCH Club members.
