A man jailed for life for murder in Dublin three years ago lost an attempt to have his conviction overturned yesterday. The Court of Criminal Appeal refused Stephen Boyle's application for leave to appeal against his conviction. Boyle (31), of Ormeau Road, Belfast, was sentenced to life imprisonment in the Central Criminal Court in 1997 for the murder of Gerard Hagan (31), Norfolk Road, Belfast, in Lower Rathmines Road, Dublin.
