A night porter has been sentenced to life for murdering a colleague in a Limerick hotel last year.

A night porter has been sentenced to life for murdering a colleague in a Limerick hotel last year.

Paulo Nascimento (27) had pleaded guilty at the Central Criminal Court in Dublin to the murder of Gráinne Dillon at Jury's Inn Hotel in Limerick city on January 5th, 2002.

Ms Dillon (24) was a trainee hotel manager. Her body was discovered in the hotel kitchen; she had been shot three times.

The court heard Nascimento shot her with a stolen shotgun as he tried to rob cash from the hotel safe.
