Man jailed for buggering teenage boy

A Laois man who buggered a neighbouring teenage boy has been jailed by Dublin Circuit Criminal Court for eight terms of seven years. The 33-year-old single man, who cannot be named to protect his victim's identity, pleaded guilty to a total of 15 offences committed between January 1st, 1987, and 1993. He had no previous convictions. The victim was 14 years old when the offences began.

Judge Kieran O'Connor imposed eight terms of seven years each on the buggery charges; four terms of five years each on indecent assault charges; and three terms of two years each on sexual assault charges. All sentences run concurrently from last June.
