Man held over Dublin robbery

A man has been arrested in connection with a bank robbery in Dublin earlier this month.

Gardaí in Rathfarnham arrested the man, who is in his mid 20s, this morning. He is being held at Rathfarnham Garda station under section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939.

A lone raider armed with a shotgun entered the Bank of Ireland branch in Rathfarnham shopping centre on October 11th and threatened staff before escaping with an undisclosed sum of cash.

He left across Butterfield Avenue in the direction of Marion Road, gardaí said.
