A man aged in his early 30s has been arrested in connection with the double murders of two brothers in Dublin earlier this year.
Kenneth Corbally (32) and his brother Paul (35), who were both originally from Ballyfermot, were killed when the car in which they were in was riddled with shots during an attack on Neilstown Road, Clondalkin, west Dublin on June 28th.
A 14-year-old who was also in the car was injured during the attack. He managed to flee the area and make his way to Tallaght hospital.
The Corballys were killed after their Lexus was rammed by an Audi 6 carrying at least two armed men, who opened fire with handguns, fatally wounding both.
A burnt-out car was found in the Foxborough area about a mile from the murder scene, near the Moorefield estate of the Neilstown Road. Gardaí believe this car was most likely used by the killers.
The Corballys were well-known drug dealers and had been involved in a feud with a gang headed by a major drugs dealer from Ballyfermot, west Dublin.
They had been warned by gardaí several times in recent months that their lives were under threat.
Kenneth Corbally was driving the car when it was shot at while Paul Corbally was the front-seat passenger at the time of the incident.
Both were very well-known to gardaí and were regarded as violent criminals who were involved in serious crime, including armed robberies and serious drug crime.
The man arrested this morning in Dublin is being held at Lucan Garda station under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act of 2007.
