Man held over €200,000 drug seizure

A man was arrested today after gardai seized around €200,000 worth of cannabis at Dublin Airport.

A man was arrested today after gardai seized around €200,000 worth of cannabis at Dublin Airport.

The man was detained following a combined operation between the Garda National Drugs Unit and Revenue Customs Officials. A Garda spokesman said: "The man arrested is an Austrian national and he is being detained at Santry Garda station under the provisions of Section 2 Criminal Justice Act." It comes after last night's cannabis seizure in west Dublin believed to be worth around €1 million. The three men, one aged 24 and the others aged 35, where taken to Clondalkin Garda Station for questioning.

Gardaí also impounded a car and a van during the planned raid.

The men are being held under section two of the Criminal Justice Drug Trafficking Act.
