Man gags on drugs packet worth £5,000

A suspected drug dealer almost choked on his own heroin in Dublin on Saturday night, gardai said yesterday.

A suspected drug dealer almost choked on his own heroin in Dublin on Saturday night, gardai said yesterday.

Gardai approached a man at Kilbarrack who was seen to place a small package in his mouth as they drew near. It lodged in his throat and the man fell to the ground and appeared to be choking. The package, forced out of his throat by gardai, contained about £5,000 worth of heroin.

The man was taken to Beaumont hospital.
