A pedestrian has died following a road incident early this morning in Co Roscommon.
Gardaí at Boyle are seeking help from the public in identifying the man killed on the N4 at Ardcarne, between Boyle and Carrick-on-Shannon, at about 4.30am. A van was also involved.
The pedestrian is believed to be in his 20s; has a shaven head; and was wearing blue jeans, white runners, a grey T-shirt and a dark charcoal coloured zip up top. His body has been removed to Roscommon County Hospital.
The scene has been closed off to allow for a Garda examination. Motorists have been advised to avoid the area.
