An 18-year-old English man was charged with the murder of a Cork girl at a special sitting of Cork District Court yesterday evening.
Mr Jonathon Kepple, of Deptford, London, arrived at the court with his head covered in a T-shirt. He was charged with murdering Rachel Sandeman (17) on waste ground off Nutley Road, Mahon, Cork, on Saturday.
He made no reply when the charge was read out.
Det Garda Dan Lane gave evidence of his arrest, charge and caution at St Colmcille's Road, Mayfield, on Saturday.

Judge Uinsinn Mac Gruairc ordered Mr Kepple to be remanded in custody to Cork District Court on Wednesday.
