An oil rig worker has been charged following the death his wife, whose body was found in a Tipperary hotel this morning.
Mr John Collinson, 49, who has an address in Holland, was accused of assault causing harm at a special District Court sitting in Cahir, Co Tipperary.
The body of his wife, who has been named as Rose Collinson, 50, was found in a room at the Bell and Salmon Hotel in Carrick on Suir, Co Tipperary early this morning.
Mr Collinson was remanded in custody until Thursday and the court was told that the charge against him was a holding one.

The scene has been preserved for technical examination and the Deputy State Pathologist Dr Marie Cassidy carried out a post-mortem examination this evening.
