A man received burns to his left arm and stomach after a petrol bomb was thrown threw the window of his first-floor flat in Derry early this morning.

The incident happened at 12.50 a.m in Clonmakane Court in the Nelson's Drive area of the city.

An RUC spokesman said two or three men may have been involved and they may have left the scene in a car.

The man's clothing was set on fire when the petrol bomb landed in the flat, but he managed to put the flames out.
