A 21-year-old man appeared before Sligo District Court yesterday charged in connection with the murder of a man in the town on Tuesday.
Mark Sweeney of Finisklin road, Sligo was charged with murdering Paul Waters at Stephen Mews, Sligo on July 27th last.
He was remanded in custody by Judge Oliver McGuinness to appear at the same court on August 5th next.
The body of Mr Waters (42), a native of Avondale, Sligo, was discovered beside the Stephen Street car park in the centre of town on Tuesday morning.
