Senator Sean Maloney has been selected unanimously as Labour Party candidate for the by election in Donegal North East arising from the death of the Independent Fianna Fail TD, Mr Neil Blaney, reports Joe Carroll, Parliamentary Correspondent.
In his acceptance speech in Buncrana last night, Senator Maloney said he wished to see all political prisoners "freed over the coming weeks". He hoped the IRA would lay down its guns and "mean it this time".
