Solicitor Michael Lynn's house in Howth was sold today at auction for €4.9 million under the instructions by court appointed receiver Rory O'Ferrall of accountants Deloitte & Touche.
Mr Lynn, who is believed to be abroad and faces arrest if he returns, has estimated liabilities of more than €80 million and has had his practising certificate suspended by court order.
He is facing 48 charges of alleged professional misconduct following investigations by the internal disciplinary body of the Law Society.
The house, Glenlion, had an advised minimum value (AMV) of €4.5 million. Mr Lynn and his wife Bríd Murphy paid over €5 million for the 4.75-acre property in 2006.
There were two bidders for the property at Lisney's auction rooms who were acting in trust for third parties. The identity of the winning bidder is unknown.
Glenlion House is described as being in disrepair but has uninterrupted views of Dublin Bay, including the nearby Baily lighthouse, and has its own private beach.
