England's David Lynn leads the Nissan Irish Open by one after shooting a 65 in a second round that saw home favourite Padraig Harrington's effort fizzle out with a disappointing 76, in Portmarnock today.

The former amateur international took over at the top of the leaderboard from Thomas Bjorn on ten-under-par after the Dane disappointed with a 74 after setting a course record yesterday with a 64.

Lynn is closely followed by Michael Campbell who recovered from bogeying the long sixth to add to two earlier birdies with success on the 11th and 12th and finish on 69.

Pre-tournament favourite Harrington missed the cut after his 76 coupled with yesterday's 69 left the Dubliner on one over par and with nothing to do for the weekend.

Darren Clarke was close to joining him but he crept under par with a birdie on the 17th and made sure that he would be involved at the weekend.

Peter Lawrie however didn't seem to be suffering from the same bug as he carded a 69, the same as his first round, to finish on six under.

Ryder Cup hero Paul McGinley is also well in the hunt for honours, carding a six-under-par 66 to sit nicely placed on four under for the tournament.

Damien McGrane carded a two-under par 70 to finish eight off the lead.
